Hike Messenger: New feature "Free Voice Calling"

Hike Messenger : Free Voice Calling

Hike Messenger : Free Voice Calling India's homegrown app Hike messenger Wednesday launched free 'Hike Voice Calls' that allows users across the globe in over 200 countries to make a voice call over 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi networks.

The introduction of such calls has come within a month of its first acquisition of a free calling app - Zip Phone. Hike calls have been optimised to consume very little data, giving its users more calling minutes per MB of data, claims the company.

Kavin Bharti Mittal, Founder and CEO, hike messenger said that "India is a very cost sensitive market and as a result we've ensured that our service is extremely efficient on data that means our users can pack in more minutes per MB when calling on hike,"

Hike Messenger is targeting 100 million users by the end of 2015, looking for steady growth from its last published figures of 35 million users in August. Hike is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and SoftBank Corporation.

The free Hike calling feature has been launched in beta on Android, which contributes to over 90 percent of Hike’s user base. The iOS and Windows versions are slated for release by the end of this quarter.
